Keto Salisbury Steak with Jalapeño Cream

This Keto-friendly version of a popular Cajun classic features a luscious Anise-flavored cream sauce, accompanied by healthy mashed cauliflower (faux-mashed-potatoes), charred cabbage and steamed broccoli. It clocks in at less than 10 net carbs.

Step 1
Combine the spice blend and the ground beef in a small bowl. Form the meat into individual patties.
Step 2
Add oil or ghee to a flat-bottom pan over medium-high heat. Sear the meat (about 2 minutes on each side). Add the onions and peppers. Stir and sautée until translucent. Deglaze the the pan with the beer. Add the stock and cream. Cover and simmer for 7 to 8 minutes.
Step 3

Warm-up the cauliflower-mash and the steamed broccoli if necessary. See Notes and Tips for the recipe for the cauliflower-mash (faux mashed potatoes).

Step 4
Time to plate the dish. Add the patty and 2 spoonfuls of cauliflower-mash to the plate. Then spoon the sauce over the top. Disburse the broccoli florets around the plate. Garnish with a few slices of avocado and a sprig of rosemary. Serve it with the red wine of your choice.
